Hello folks! Yes I'm still alive! We just got back from our little "vacay" back home in Singapore. We've been traveling back there so many times this year- May and September to sign the lease of our built-to-order unit, November for my mini post-Ph.D break and in December for Christmas (mum guilted me into going back for the holidays). We will be flying back there AGAIN in two weeks' time for our wedding. Like my girl Shups puts it, "It's as if you never left..!"
I just wanted to blog a little about this new little cafe that Mr. C and I tried out when we were back, it's called Miam Miam and they serve Japanese-French fusion food. Conveniently located within Bugis Junction, we found ourselves pandering to try them out after Shups introduced it to us.
They serve both sweet and savoury food. We had their Souffle de Nuage and their Caramelized Banana Souffle Pancake.
The Souffle de Nuage, as its name suggests, is essentially baked rice topped with light and fluffy souffle. Cheese powder was then sprinkled over the top. This dish was pretty expensive for its portion, it cost about SGD$18. They were pretty stingy with the ingredients in the baked rice too. But having said all that, this dish tasted really good and it was quite a unique gastronomical experience for the both of us. It left us hankering for more.
The Caramelized Banana Souffle Pancake took the prize home for sure! It was the fluffiest pancake I had ever eaten! Although the caramelized banana bits tasted a little oddly salty, the vanilla ice cream compensated for the sweetness. But again, the portion was quite tiny for the price.
Due to our upcoming wedding, Mr. C and I were trying really hard not to gorge ourselves. We'll come back after our big day and PIG OUT!
