Popcorn

I first tried Kettle Corn here in Australia at one of the farmers' markets and fell madly in love with the sweet and salty taste. We used to get our popcorn fix at our local farmers' market but they have since moved! I googled "Kettle Corn" and managed to find a recipe for it. I was quite surprised by how easy it was to make! Here's how we do it (we make the popcorn in a normal pot btw):

Recipe:
1/3 cup of corn kernels
1/3 rice bran oil
1/3 cup white sugar

Directions:
1) Heat oil till hot and throw in 3 kernels. If they pop, the oil is hot enough.
2) Throw in the rest of your corn kernels and let them sit for 30 sec -1 min. The kernels should not pop yet.
3) Add in the sugar and kinda shake the pot a bit to mix the sugar in with the kernels.
4) Keep shaking the pot as the kernels pop to help distribute the sugar evenly.
5) Empty the freshly-popped popcorn into a big bowl, add some salt and toss to mix while the popcorn is still corn. This helps the salt "stick" to the popcorn.

YUMMY.
