The Husband's Baptism

A few weeks ago, the Husband was baptized in our new (sort of new) home church. I am very glad we were brought to ICC (International City Church) by our colleague. We love the people there very much, they are very kind, funny and down-to-earth. Everyone is like one big family. The sermons are simple to understand and the pastors are very good! I have a short attention span by nature but I always seem to manage to stay focused throughout, so that must say something about their presentation style.

The Husband was asked to give a short testimonial before the baptism:

He shared some moments of difficulties he had in his life, and I was very proud of him for doing so. After the testimonial, it was time to get wet!

Those were two of a quite a few pastors of the church. Pastor Olivia conducted our pre-marriage counseling course. She is a gentle, warm and friendly person, I like her very much. Pastor Jono is also very nice and friendly. I think it is indeed very important to be approachable and non-judgmental as a pastor. Although we go to church for God, I think the make-up of congregation is equally important. We have been to a few churches but have never felt very good about them. Here, we feel very accepted. It feels like we've finally returned home.

Our lovely CONNECT group (something like cell group) stayed back for the Husband's baptism and we took a group photo after:

To God be the glory!
